Obama prods Congress on education law renewal
Obama wishes to reform education by the next school semester, in the fall. His plan is to re-write the, “No Child Left Behind” bill that was passed by former president George W. Bush, in 2002. He says that by asking students to improve in reading and math to proficiency, he will be able to identify bad schools. In doing so, he hopes the schools will try to keep up with the standards, and improve.
